A new restaurant and bar project has been proposed for the intersection of Maryland Parkway and East Charleston Boulevard. Documents submitted to Las Vegas Planning Commission request a special use permit to serve alcohol in a restaurant that would open at 608 South Maryland Pkwy Suite 160, in the space formerly occupied by Mahoney’s Drum Shop.
Behind the project is the Outfit, LLC, doing business as Jive Turkey, which appears to be the name of the bar/restaurant. According to the paperwork, it comprises 4,365 square feet of restaurant space, with 135 seats. The application is also for a restricted gaming license allowing up to five bar top gaming machines.
“The two business partners have combined for over 30 years of culinary experience and have teamed together to bring a vintage-themed Five Star Dive Bar/Restaurant concept to the Huntridge neighborhood, which we feel is consistent with the Downtown Overlay District,” reads a justification letter submitted with the documents. “With this new restaurant addition to the neighborhood, the momentum of redevelopment continues throughout the Charleston corridor and is consistent with other land uses nearby.”
What Now reached out on Friday to Adam O’Donnell, one of the two business partners mentioned. O’Donnell declined to comment at that time, and What Now is awaiting more information.
The Maryland Parkway location is part of a cluster of food and drink spots located around the Maryland-Charleston intersection. These include Mariscos Playa Escondida, Tacos Mexico, and, on the other side of Charleston, outlets of Wingstop and Capriotti’s Sandwich Shops.
