According to a recent permit filing, a new winery called Nolia Wine Company is set to open its doors in Ladd’s Addition at 2025 SE 7th Ave.

“Our wines will be available in the spring of 2024. We currently share space with Helioterra Winery, but are looking for a different location in the Sellwood-Moreland area for a social club,” Don Laborde, the owner, told What Now Portland.

“We will be at pop-up events and festivals in the meantime, and selling our wines on our website. We are a sparkling wine company, with our first brand name being Bool, which is the first brand for Nolia,” Don added.

Nolia is listed under Nolia Wine Company INC., described as operating as a California Stock Corporation, and was filed as an out-of-state stock entity on January 31, 2023. They are listed as maintaining an active filing status, according to Bizapedia.

InnoVint states that Don has nearly two decades of experience, and has spearheaded the growth phases of some of the most significant brands on the North Coast. He played a pivotal role at Duckhorn Wine Company, overseeing DECOY’s production during its tenure as the top revenue-generating brand in the U.S. LaBorde’s background is described as “rich” in the world of winemaking, and his leadership in operational teams has been channeled towards enhancing the value of InnoVint’s solution for their major winery clients.

Additionally, he introduced methodologies from 5S/Lean/Six-Sigma, ISO, Priority Learning, and DiSC programs within his production teams. Before this, he contributed to wine organizations such as Coppola and Trefethen, as well as served as the Director of Industry Relations at ETS Laboratories. He holds a degree in Wine Science from Charles Sturt University in Australia to round out his background, according to InnoVint’s announcement.
