According to a recent permit filing, 1919 has filed for a Richmond location at 3588 SE Division Street.

A representative of 1919 was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Portland’s request.

While an official opening date and what 1919 plans to offer has yet to be confirmed, according to the permit, 1919’s planned days of operation will be Wednesday through Sunday.

Wednesday through Friday will be open from 3 PM to 10 PM, Saturday from 1 PM to 10 PM, and Sunday from 11 AM to 10 PM with no seasonal variation. The same days and hours will apply to outdoor operating hours, with food and alcohol service options.

According to the permit, 1919 was filed for under 1919 LLC. The business contact is listed as Stephen Haubrich.

For the property itself, Loop Net states the building size is approximately 4,700 square feet and was built in 1919. The property has hosted multiple tenants such as Sessionable and Fumerie Perfumerie. “Musicians from Pink Martini to the Decemberists to jazz great Chuck Israels have made albums here.”

  • Hi Madison, I’m so glad you wrote about my sister and brother-in-law’s new bar, 1919! It is gorgeous and just opened yesterday (Sept 4) for the first time. My sister Susan Haubrich was a chef at some of San Francisco’s best restaurants (Stars Cafe, Bix, Bizou, Balboa Cafe) and then became an interior designer. Her husband Steve had a long career in sales and marketing, but his real passion is live music. They moved from Austin to Portland a few years ago, bought and renovated a 100-year-old house, and are now excited about their new business.

This bar represents all of their creative talents put together. The design is my sister’s genius–she made all the upholstery herself; they also did the renovation completely by themselves. I have no doubt the food will be the best bar food anyone has ever had–that’s Susan’s style! Steve is the most personable guy you’ll ever meet and is sharing his immense music collection with their guests.

Let me know what info you might need for another post on them.
