Bridgeport Village’s furniture push keeps growing. Arhaus is set to open at 7301 SW Bridgeport Rd this fall, according to the mall’s leasing announcements, joining Herman Miller and Design Within Reach as part of the center’s broader shift toward higher end home retail.

Founded in Cleveland in 1986 by John Reed and his father, Jack Reed, Arhaus built its identity around artisan crafted furniture sourced from manufacturing partners around the world, spanning sofas, dining sets, bedroom furniture, lighting and outdoor pieces. The company has leaned increasingly on a design studio format in recent years, offering a smaller, more intimate showroom paired with dedicated in-house designers who can guide customers from initial concept all the way through home installation. Each studio location typically includes an interactive design center with 3D room planning software, letting shoppers visualize pieces inside their own space before buying.

Arhaus has grown to more than 100 locations across 31 states, and the Bridgeport Village addition would mark a notable entry into the Portland furniture market for the publicly traded, family founded brand.

The studio format also gives Arhaus a way to test smaller footprints in markets like Portland, where a full sized traditional showroom might not fit as easily into an already dense retail center like Bridgeport Village.
