Modern furniture shoppers in the Portland area are about to get another option. Design Within Reach is opening a studio this fall at Bridgeport Village, located in 7301 SW Bridgeport Rd, according to the mall’s leasing announcements, adding to a growing cluster of home furnishing retailers moving into the center.

Design Within Reach positions itself around curating authentic design from around the world, pairing renowned furniture classics with newer, forward looking pieces spanning furniture, lighting and decor. The brand operates under the same parent company as Herman Miller, MillerKnoll, and the two are opening at Bridgeport Village around the same time this fall, giving shoppers two closely related design destinations within the same center.

Shoppers can expect the store to lean heavily into showroom style displays, with fully built out room vignettes showing off living, dining, bedroom and outdoor furniture setups rather than a typical retail floor plan. The brand also offers complimentary design services, including in-home consultations and 3D space renderings, positioning itself less as a straightforward furniture store and more as a design resource for customers planning a full room or home.

The addition fits into a broader shift at Bridgeport Village toward higher end home and lifestyle retail, with Design Within Reach joining Arhaus and City Home as part of the mall’s furniture focused expansion this year.
