La Pulga Market is planning to open at 867 E. Powell Blvd. in Gresham, with the owner aiming for November, before Thanksgiving. The opening depends on city permits, and the owner has been working with an architect for about two weeks. The market will take 7,780 square feet at Gresham Plaza.
The market will focus on Latino products and cultural goods, with items from countries such as Colombia and Mexico. It is set up like an indoor market, with individual vendors each selling their own products. This will be the business’s first location.
Variety is a priority. The owner said the vendor contracts are meant to keep the stalls from repeating each other. A shopper shouldn’t find five vendors selling the same shirts, so one might carry clothing and jerseys while another sells customized shirts. Another vendor works with jeans and personalized items, and another is bringing something unique from Mexico.
The market will also be built around families. One vendor plans to run kids’ entertainment, including game machines and an arcade-style section, because “a kid gets bored in three minutes,” the owner said. The goal is for the market to be “appealing to the Latino community and to everyone.”
The lease was among the Gresham deals in the Portland retail market this summer. Retail brokerage Kidder Mathews reported that La Pulga Market leased its space at Gresham Plaza in August 2026. The same report listed Gresham Cinema & Wunderland, which leased 16,707 square feet at Gresham Square that month, as the quarter’s largest deal.
