The furniture world’s most recognizable name in ergonomic, modern design is coming to Tigard. Herman Miller is opening this fall at Bridgeport Village, located in 7301 SW Bridgeport Rd, according to the mall’s leasing announcements, joining a broader wave of home and furniture retailers moving into the center.

Herman Miller has built its reputation over more than a century on problem solving furniture design, best known for pieces like the Aeron chair, a fixture in offices worldwide, alongside a wider catalog of home and office furnishings built around the idea that thoughtful design should be both beautiful and genuinely useful. The brand operates closely alongside Design Within Reach, another furniture retailer also set to open at Bridgeport Village this fall, since both brands fall under the same parent company, MillerKnoll.

Decades of design collaboration shaped that reputation, including work with figures like Charles and Ray Eames and George Nelson, whose pieces for the company are now considered mid-century modern icons still in production today. Sustainability has become a bigger part of that story more recently too, with the brand working to expand its use of recycled and recyclable materials, positioning itself as a design forward option for both homeowners and businesses furnishing office space.

The two openings suggest Bridgeport Village is positioning itself as a stronger destination for higher end home furnishing shoppers, a category that’s been expanding at the mall alongside additions like Arhaus and City Home, also part of this fall’s wave of new tenants.
