Yoga pants and hiking gear are joining Bridgeport Village’s fall lineup. FP Movement, the activewear brand born out of Free People, is opening a store at the Tigard shopping center located in 7301 SW Bridgeport Rd this fall, according to mall leasing announcements.
FP Movement launched in 2012 as a category within Free People before growing into its own standalone brand, built around performance ready activewear for hiking, running, racquet sports, studio workouts and skiing. The brand markets itself around a sense of community and individuality, using the tagline #movingtogether to tie its product lines together across different activities.
The brand has grown well beyond its original yoga and studio roots, expanding into gear built for hiking trails, ski slopes and racquet sports alongside its core activewear lines. That range positions FP Movement to draw a different kind of shopper than a typical mall apparel store, someone looking for functional, performance focused pieces rather than just casual athleisure, which could give Bridgeport Village a stronger pull for outdoor and fitness minded customers in the Portland area.
The opening adds another apparel option to Bridgeport Village’s growing roster, joining fellow fall arrivals like Rothy’s, the sustainable shoe and bag brand known for using recycled plastic bottle thread in its knit designs.
