Waffle House, the nationwide breakfast diner, famous for its retro aesthetic and 24-hour service, will soon come to Kyle, according to recent public records. The store will be located at 5767 Kyle Parkway, near Hawaiian Bros and Chick-Fil-A.
What Now Austin briefly contacted Vecus Miller, Executive Vice President, with questions about potential opening dates and curiosity about the company’s choice to open in Kyle, but he was busy and thus unable to answer.
Narrating their origins on the company website, Waffle House states “In 1955, two Georgia neighbors opened up a restaurant that would change the world. Joe Rogers Sr. and Tom Forkner were living in Avondale Estates, GA, when they decided to open a 24-hour, sit-down restaurant for their friends and neighbors, focused on people on both sides of the counter. That first restaurant opened the door to create the Waffle House brand that you see today.”
Fortunately, the public records in question illuminate key details for eager readers. Construction is slated to begin in August with an estimated completion of March 2024. The restaurant will cover around 1,840 square feet of space and cost around $300,000 dollars to build out.
