Growing California-based desserts chain SusieCakes will build up a new Austin location in 2024, according to recent public records. The store will be found downtown, at 1111 W. 6th Street Bldg. A, within suite 110.

“You most likely recall a cake as part of your life’s milestone celebrations,” founder Susie Sarich stated on the company website.

“Cake has the unique ability to connect us with the people and events of our past. However, cake should not be reserved only for these special occasions. A delicious slice of cake can immediately bring a bit of celebration to an ordinary day. I hope you enjoy SusieCakes on your special occasions, as well as all the days in between.”

The upcoming downtown Austin project, consisting of “the internal remodel of the existing space (1,212 SF) to a retail take-out bakery”, will begin in March 2024 and cost an estimated $300,000 to build out over its planned three-month window.

No opening date has been set. Readers eager to try SusieCakes’ cookies, cupcakes (and cakes), can visit the original Austin location at 3267 Bee Caves Rd.
