According to recent public records, Parmer Lane’s Tex Mex favorite Mama Betty’s is expanding with a second location.

Set for 7001 Burnet Road, the 7,000 SF restaurant will begin the “Finish out of restaurant tenant space to include dining areas, commercial kitchen and 2 bars”, according to TDLR records. The construction estimates foresee completion in April 2025.

“Betty Carrier was a strong-willed, single mother who raised three boys on her own while passionately running various locations of a Mexican restaurant company in Houston, Texas. At work and at home, Betty was known for her intense love, loyalty, and ability to make any stranger feel like family,” the official website states.

“She didn’t have a lot, but she had her boys and practiced a “Whatever It Takes” approach to balancing the demands of running restaurants with the demands of raising three sons alone. Loving and leading her family while setting an example of her tireless work ethic is what drove her to excel in all the Mexican restaurants that she was a part of.”

Unfamiliar readers can expect classic Tex Mex offerings such as enchiladas, flautas, quesadillas, tacos, and more.

No opening date has been announced.
