Triple T Hospitality will open a second operation in Newark, DE‘s Christiana Mall, in the spring of 2022. Tio Taco + Tequilla Bar is headed for the former California Pizza location space right next to Triple T’s Tommy’s Tavern + Tap, which will take over the former JB Dawson’s space. Tio Taco + Tequilla currently has three New Jersey locations in Marlboro, Edison, and Clifton. But it’s “nacho average Mexican joint.”

Tio Taco + Tequilla serves a sizeable Mexican fare menu of botanas, guacamole, salads, fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, tortas, larger main dishes, sides, and desserts. There’s also plenty to pick from on their cocktail, beer, and wine list, as well as their tequila menu. Tio Taco + Tequilla offers a fun and sophisticated atmosphere with a sleek sugar skull theme. Their locations typically run between 5,000 to 6,000 sq. ft., according to the New York Business Journal.

While the pandemic permanently closed over 10 percent of restaurants in the U.S., Triple T Hospitality, which also has a catering and event operation, was able to grow its business.

“While the COVID-19 pandemic was one of the most devastating times in our world, we were truly able to come together as the family organization that we are and take this time to pivot, operationally and strategically. We went from having three restaurants in our portfolio at the start of the pandemic and, right now, we are operating over 10 restaurants,” Founder and CEO Thomas Bonfiglio said, according to WFMZ.

The Bonfiglio family runs triple T Hospitality. Husband and wife Tommy and Yvette Bonfiglio opened the first Triple T Tommy’s Tavern + Tap in 2014.
