A hibachi restaurant is looking to move in the Shoppers World shopping center at 551 Germantown Pike in Lafayette Hill taking over the former location of New & Now. Osaka Hibachi Japanese received approval to open from the Whitemarsh Township Board of Supervisors in August 2021. More Than The Curve reported in December that there is a “coming soon” banner in their window.
The hibachi restaurant will open in Shoppers World between Crystal Nails and Whitemarsh Pharmacy as a takeout-only location. This restaurant reportedly has no connection to Osaka Japanese Restaurant that once operated for more than two decades on Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill. Osaka Hibachi Japanese’s opening date is unknown.
