Owner claims the Avondale Estates pub’s identity crisis is over.

Denise Gerard, owner of the pub on East College Avenue formerly named James Joyce Irish Pub, confirmed  Monday with Avondale-Estates Patch, that she has settled on Brewhouse Cafe Avondale as its final name — since October, the restaurant has undergone three name changes (excluding its original name).

The restaurant, which opened as the James Joyce Irish Pub in 2002, was given new life after being renamed the Hail Mary Sports Bar in October and Avondale Arms, most recently, according to Avondale-Estates Patch.

Brewhouse Cafe Avondale will be the pub’s fourth and final name. We hope.

So why the identity crisis? Since it’s hard to keep up with the madness, check out Avondale-Estates Patch’s literary flowchart (have a highlighter readily available before clicking over).
