Popular Chinese food franchise, Panda Express, is preparing to feed hungry Philadelphia shoppers. The beloved restaurant will be opening a new location at the Roosevelt Mall, reports The Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Roosevelt Mall, located at 2329 Cottman Avenue, is undergoing a major redevelopment, courtesy of Brixmor Property Group. The new Panda Express will play a major role in the overhaul, serving as an anchor for a “Main Street” designed to draw guests into the expansive retail paradise.

Panda Express will open during the second phase of Roosevelt’s refurbishment. Plans are still too early in their development to announce an official opening date, however Brixmor aims to open the Chinese restaurant in late 2024 or 2025.

The development group will construct the 2,000 square foot restaurant on an under-used section of parking lot.

Panda Express is a corporate-owned franchise, founded in Glendale, California. The chain first opened its doors in 1983, and has since expanded to include more than 2,200 locations worldwide.

The restaurant specializes in American Chinese food. Hungry guests can feast on favorites such as teriyaki chicken, Kung Pao chicken, and Beijing Beef.
