A popular chain will soon be adding a little extra excitement to Pennsauken’s taco Tuesdays. Summerwood Development is erecting a new Taco Bell in the New Jersey township, reports local media outlet 42 Freeway.
The beloved Mexican-American franchise will be built at the intersection of Route 130 and Westfield Avenue. The Penn Queen Diner, which currently inhabits the lot at 7349 North Crescent Boulevard, needs to be demolished before construction can begin on the Taco Bell. The demolition has been approved but has not yet begun, making it unlikely that Taco Bell will be completed and opened before mid-to-late 2024.
Once completed, the 2,722 square foot Taco Bell will provide indoor seating for up to 52 customers. Visitors in a hurry will be able to grab their food on the run at the dual drive-thru.
Taco Bell has been embraced by a rabid fanbase since it first burst onto the restaurant scene in 1962. As of 2022, the fast food giant has 8,218 locations globally. The franchise provides a fast-casual option for customers craving taco, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos.
