Susuru Japanese Restaurant announced Thursday on its Facebook page that plans are in motion to open a new flagship location on East Colonial in Orlando before the end of 2021. While the business hasn’t officially revealed the address yet, information obtained by What Now Orlando indicates that it will be located at 700 Maguire Boulevard inside the former Pizza Hut.

The new 2,340 square-foot restaurant will be called Susuru JuJu and modeled after the concept of a retro-style izakaya, a Japanese bar that serves Japanese small plates to accompany alcoholic drinks.

Previous media coverage lists Lewis Lin as the owner of the first location on Palm Parkway, which opened in October 2018 serving cocktails and dinner, including grilled fish and ramen dishes.

An authentic Japanese menu will feature Susuru’s signature yakitori binchotan grilled skewers and a unique twist on Japanese drinks. Susuru’s cocktail menu lists options like My Kewpie boba tea topped with cotton candy and a kewpie doll or the Godzilla II with sake and passion fruit topped with a Godzilla toy, as well as sake and bottled and draft beer.

The Facebook announcement said Susuru JuJu will open Winter 2021.
