Franchisee John Damico confirmed with What Now Miami on Monday that he is opening a Jersey Mike’s Subs location soon. Damico didn’t have an opening date to share, but he told that they have not begun construction as yet.
The owner of one other Jersey Mike’s Subs location, Damico has two more in the works: one in Miami and a Hallandale unit.
The address will be at 5600 Blue Lagoon Drive. It will near other popular chains, such as Chipotle and Panda Express. A recent 1034 plan review for new construction filed with the state on February 8 is in process.
Jersey Mike’s, which was founded in New Jersey in 1956, has over 2000 locations nationwide. With a commitment to source as much produce as possibly locally and to only serve high-quality meats and cheeses, the company has grown tremendously from its initial storefront on Jersey Shore. The chain also takes a philanthropic stance. On the last Wednesday in the month of March, the stores donate 100% of their sales to local charity partners.
