Skinny Louie is continuing its South Florida expansion, with a new location headed to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

The Miami-born smash burger concept has listed the seaside location on its website as “coming soon.” The restaurant will open just off the beach in the heart of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea’s commercial district, at 107A E. Commercial Boulevard. An opening date has not yet been announced.

The lease was also announced by Cohen Commercial Realty, which said Skinny Louie had signed a deal for the Lauderdale-by-the-Sea space.

Skinny Louie has grown rapidly since opening its first restaurant in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood. The brand has since expanded throughout South Florida, with locations in areas including Miami Beach, North Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Coconut Grove, as well as outside Florida.

The restaurant specializes in paper-thin smash burgers made with 100% Black Angus beef, cooked on a griddle to create crispy, caramelized edges.

Its signature Skinny Louie cheeseburger comes topped with grilled onions, double American cheese, pickles and the restaurant’s Louie sauce. The streamlined menu also includes classic burgers and Applewood bacon burgers, along with fries and milkshakes.

The Lauderdale-by-the-Sea restaurant will add another Broward County location for the growing burger brand and place Skinny Louie along one of the beach town’s primary restaurant and entertainment corridors.

Skinny Louie lists the new restaurant among its upcoming locations on its website, although the company has not announced a specific timeline for when the Commercial Boulevard location will begin serving customers.
