Restaurateur Saray Saggiamo is bringing the area Escape Bakery Bar & Restaurant. The concept seeks to fill a gap Saggiamo has identified in the market: an establishment serving alcohol and muffins.

According to a plan review filing with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the restaurant will appear at 131 N Krome Ave. Saggiamo said in a brief interview with What Now on Tuesday that she is hoping to receive permits soon and begin renovations.

She plans to transform a former furniture store into a workable space for Escape Bakery Bar & Restaurant. If the permits come through soon, Saggiamo plans to have the doors open in three to four months.

With a goal for broad appeal, Saggiamo writes on the website that she hopes to create “a fun and welcoming destinations for professionals and party-goers alike!”

The aforementioned plan review was filed on March 28 and is still in process.
