Wife and Husband duo Linda Nash and Steve Rosenfield are no strangers to the restaurant industry. The two got their start as franchisees who turned independent restaurateurs with Barrio Queen, a casual Mexican concept. According to Monroe, Moxness, and Berg’s Restaurant Finance Monitor, the Barrio Queen “will soon give rise to a fast casual concept called Barrio Queen Chica.”

Perhaps this explains the most recent development from Nash and Rosenfield. Under the name Barrio Cosita, the couple’s company filed for a liquor license at 15801 N Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, #100 in Scottsdale. We were unable to reach Nash or Rosenfield at the time of publication, so we are unable to confirm if Barrio Cosita is at all related to the fast casual concept mentioned in the Monitor.

We can say the new eatery will share a brick-and-mortar with Ramen Hood and Teharu Sushi and sit adjacent to the Central Arizona Project Canal.

Barrio Queen currently has 7 locations in the Valley and boasts “the best authentic Mexican Restaurant in AZ with very unique food flavors from Mexico city.” It doubles as a tequileria with over 300 tequilas to choose from. All of this bodes quite well for the new Barrio Cosita.
