On July 23, 2021, an application for a liquor license for a Little Asia was put in place by owner Tun Tun Naing. The restaurant is slated to come to 4212 W Cactus Road #1107.

According to the application, Little Asia has been incorporated since October of 2020, but this will be their first physical location.

When What Now Phoenix reached out to Tun for comment, he said, “We’re waiting on final inspection and a few more things to pass. I’m not sure yet when we’ll be ready to officially open.”

According to their website, their restaurant will serve “sushi, some Southeast Asian dishes and Hawaiian cuisine in the best possible way.” The menu also includes all the Southeast Asian favorites and a hefty selection of sushi choices. We’re ready for the caterpillar roll: Fresh water eel, mixed crab and cucumber on the inside, sliced avocado with sushi sauce and sesame seeds on the outside?

Yes, please.

The Hawaiian side of the menu also serves Polynesian favorites like Kalua Pork slow cooked and served with green onion on a bed of white rice.

We may just have to become regulars ourselves.
