Butta Cakes is working on opening a new location at the Sunrise Promenade on 24604 N Lake Pleasant Parkway.

The bakery, whose home base is in Scottsdale’s Grayhawk Plaza, started as a passion project in the kitchen of owner Perry Hilton. After being challenged to create a cake for a dinner party, Hilton spent some time perfecting his recipe before sharing it with his friends.

It wasn’t long before everybody wanted a slice.

“I enjoy bringing happiness to others,” Hilton writes on the website. “What better way to do so than with Butta Cakes?”

The mini cakes come by the dozen, half dozen, or a four pack. You can also buy a single cake or a large six-incher. If none of those satisfy the cravings, you can never go wrong with the original four-inch “butta” cake.

When What Now Phoenix reached out to Hilton on Tuesday, he responded by e-mail saying, “Our projected timeline is December 2021. This will depend greatly on the City of Peoria. We are trying hard to get them all they need so they can issue the building permits.”

According to the intel, the upcoming space will cover 1,500 square feet, which is plenty of room for those eager to satiate their sweet teeth.
