The Folsom Cafe, a quaint third-wave coffee shop in Historic Folsom, will soon reopen under new ownership at 727 B Sutter Street.

The company was initially owned by Ritmo Ventures, which purchased it in 2022 when it was known as Reset: Cafe By Day. In early 2023, it rebranded as The Folsom Cafe and closed the following year. Now, according to signage on the building recently reported by the Sacramento Business Journal, a new ownership group will reopen the cafe in about two weeks. The ownership team, which consists of Amy Pierce, her mother-in-law Susie Pierce, and her sister-in-law Ashley Pierce, plans to keep the name but eventually implement a new menu.

When the cafe reopens in a couple of weeks, customers can expect an emphasis on high-quality coffee and espresso options and a selection of grab-and-go items such as pastries, sandwiches, and salads. The Pierces plan to first focus on breakfast and lunch, opening The Folsom Cafe from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eventually, the new ownership team hopes to expand the hours of operation into the evening and possibly obtain a beer and wine license.

This isn’t the only project the Pierces are working on in the area. Amy Pierce and her husband Justin are obtaining permits to convert the former Season’s 916 eatery at 711 Sutter St. into a Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop, as previously reported by What Now Sacremento. Before the Pierce Family opens this sweet shop, they will focus on reviving The Folsom Cafe, and they say they are excited about the opportunity to do something that will be exciting and beneficial to the community.
