As first reported by Dayton Daily News, a Pulp Juice and Smoothie Bar will open this spring in Fairborn at 2012 Commerce Center Blvd. As noted on its website, the smoothie chain got its start in Ohio and was founded by Thom Knepp in Kent, Ohio in 2005. Although it is an Ohio-based chain, the Fairborn store will be the first Pulp Juice and Smoothie Bar to open in the Dayton area.
Soon after its founding, Knepp began franchising locations and the company now has over 50 storefronts located throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and South Carolina. The Fairborn location will be brought to the community by a pair of franchisees, Danny Henry and Phil Thomas.
According to an article in the Dayton Business Journal, Thomas, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, grew up in Fairborn and attended Fairborn High School, while Henry studied marketing at Wright State University and has previous restaurant and food equipment industry experience. In the previous articles, the franchisees have expressed their excitement in bringing the first Pulp location to the area, which will be 1,172-square-feet, and is currently slated to open some time this spring.
When it opens, guests of the Fairborn store can find a variety of fruit and vegetable smoothies as well as fruit bowls and fresh juices. There’s also a food menu with selections such as salads and a number of wraps, including vegetarian and vegan offerings.
