The husband-and-wife duo behind one of Philly’s hottest bagel concepts is bringing their unique dining vision to New Jersey. Jacob and Alexandra Cohen are opening a new location of Kismet Bagels Luncheonette in Ventnor later this year, reports The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The eatery will be taking over the space which served as the home for the departing Water Dog Smoke House for the past seven years. The Cohen’s are working hard to ensure the 7319 Ventnor Avenue storefront will be able to greet guests by May, in anticipation of summer.

The enterprising duo have a history with the area, making the new location a natural choice. Kismet began selling its wares out of the nearby Margate Community Farmers Market in 2020, building up a strong and loyal customer base.

Those local enthusiasts and future regulars alike are in for a treat; the Ventnor Kismet will follow the company’s luncheonette model, offering the chain’s signature bagels alongside an expanded menu featuring bagel and deli sandwiches and pizza bagels.
