A longstanding Cordova pie shop has shuttered, but something new is on the rise.

After 18 years of serving sweet treats, The Pie Folks officially closed its doors at 1028 N Germantown Pkwy on October 27, 2024, according to The Daily Memphian. Nearing retirement, owner Audrey Anderson has chosen to step back and pursue a new venture with less stress.

Alongside the award-winning “Slap Yo Mama” Chocolate Pie, The Pie Folks’ menu featured flavors like Big Daddy Peanut Butter & Chocolate, Hallelujah Mocha Java, and Christmas Everyday Peppermint Chocolate pies.

Though Anderson had hoped to extend her lease through the holidays, the opportunity didn’t pan out. But her journey is far from over.

In early 2025, she’ll unveil a banana-themed bakery on Elvis Presley Blvd in Whitehaven, offering treats like Banana Cream Pie, Banana Smoothies, Banana Ice Cream, and Banana Pudding.

Building on the success of her Granny’s Old Fashioned Banana Pudding mix (sold at Publix stores statewide), Anderson’s new bakery will also feature an Elvis-inspired Peanut Butter and Banana Pie, which she tells The Daily Memphian will be the next “Slap Yo Mama” sensation.

Anderson confirmed this news with What Now Memphis, promising to reveal the bakery’s name and precise address soon. Stay tuned.
