Solita Tacos, the California-based Mexican restaurant serving tacos, wood-fired dishes, and craft cocktails, is making its Chicago debut in River North, located at 431 N Wells.

The new festive Mexican restaurant will move into the former home of Pink Taco, which recently closed down after replacing Bull & Bear for the past four years. The company, owned and operated by Xperience Restaurant Group, led by CEO Randy Sharpe, plans to open this location sometime in Summer 2022. Solita Tacos is just getting started with expanding beyond Southern California, where the company has four locations. The company is also planning to open a new location in Orlando in Fall 2022.

When these two new locations open, customers can expect great Mexican food and delicious margaritas. The kitchen will offer famous charro tacos and various options from the “Tacos Locos” list, which showcases traditional and unique ingredients. As for the drinks, the bar will have over 70 of Mexico’s finest small-batch tequilas and mezcals, including our signature single-barrel tequila. Everything about the restaurant is designed to celebrate the warmth and friendliness of Mexico, from their fresh house-made salsa and hot sauces to tequila barrels.

“Here at solita, we like things to be casual and fun,” according to the restaurant’s website. “Hang out by the patio fire pit with a hand-crafted margarita; or kick back at our friendly bar, grab some tacos, and explore our ever-changing collection of premium tequilas and mezcals. Enjoy a leisurely dinner in our spacious dining room, designed to evoke the industrial feel of an old tequila distillery.”
