Sweet Café, a new upscale diner is coming to Chicago in August, with a modern breakfast menu and different coffee, champagne, and dessert options.

Two liquor licenses, including one for an outdoor patio, were filed by Sugar Bowl Chicago LLC for Sweet Café, but the new restaurant will be a new separate concept from the old 1921 diner in Des Plaines, according to owner George Prassas, who helped reopen Sugar Bowl in 2009, after it shuttered, according to Patch.

Prassas told What Now Chicago that he is hoping to open Sweet Café by August 15 as the restaurant is currently in its final construction phase. He said that the menu is tentative and might include other options later on, but, for now, the team running the restaurant will start with serving deserts and coffee among other food items, and then they will “see where it goes from there.”

Sweet Café will be located at 6348 W Higgins Ave, Floor 1 and it will operate from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., said Parassas.
