A new pancake shop is set to fill a vacant business in the Berkeley suburb.
The owners recently took to Facebook to announce Very Berry Good Pancake House will be coming to 5345 St Charles Road. It will be taking over the former JK’s Breakfast and Lunch Restaurant. This new location is set to open by Aug. 1 as of now.
Pancakes will not be the only specialty from the business. On their Instagram page, food served is being advertised like bacon, eggs and hashbrowns, spicy chilaquiles rojos with chicken and chingona carne asada. They will also have pastries like red velvet cake.
“We have a lunch menu too, with paninis, wraps and hamburgers,” Co-owner Claudia Sandoval told What Now Chicago.
The business was started by Sandoval and her sister, Nancy Camargo. This follows them working at Lulu Belle’s Pancake House in Franklin Park which is now closed. The two decided to start their own business venture and will have a menu similar to the pancake house.
According to Sandoval, they had also been looking in the Franklin Park area. The project has been in the works since last September.
The restaurant will be at the corner of St Charles and N Wolf Road in the heart of Berkeley. It is also near Rocky’s Gyros and Coaches Sports Bar. According to Sandoval, they are just waiting on permits.
