One of the newest cafes coming to Crown Point, Indiana is from Jillian Richey, a local interior designer who is starting this endeavor with her husband Felix Echevarria.
Jilly’s Boutique Cafe will be opening soon at 238 Main Street. The menu will feature delicate pastries, European-inspired baguette sandwiches with the finest ingredients sourced directly from Europe. Richey told What Now Chicago the ribbon cutting will be June 27, and opening day will be on July 1.
Richey owns her own interior design studio based in Hinsdale. Her new business is advertised as being family built, and it is located in the Crown Point Historic District. Richey said when they moved to the city from Chicago, they immediately fell in love with the area.
“It has such charm and history and thoughtfulness,” Jillian said.
For the coffee, they are using award-winning Reprise Coffee Roasters out of Evanston. Along with baguette sandwiches, Felix said guests can expect Paris ham, salads with parmesan reggiano with balsamic pearls.
“I want to give you a really good sandwich with a really good cup of coffee while you look at the beautiful work that Jillian has done,” Felix said.
The two announced the new cafe in September 2024. Construction has been going on since then, and the interior of the building has been completely redone. It has French architecture themes inside and outside. In April they announced the business is hiring a team.
“We knew instantly that this is a community that we wanted to be a part of and stand behind,” Jillian said.
