JR’s BBQ N More, a catering and food truck business based out of Keller, but serving the DFW area, is expanding big time in the new year.
A Facebook post announced that a storefront will open at 121 Rufe Snow Drive in early 2022. The location is part of Keller Town Center, a retail and restaurant space that includes such businesses as Summer Moon Coffee, Pizza Hut, H&R Block, Chick-fil-A, and Tom Thumb. According to a site plan of the town center, JR’s BBQ N More will occupy suite 127, a 2,124-square foot space.
“Words cannot explain the journey we have been on with JR’s BBQ N More,” the post read. “The past five years…have been amazing! We appreciate all our parents, family, friends, customers support and the community! It took time to build our business but with hard work and dedication we have made it with God’s timing!
“We are excited to announce we will be opening a store front in Keller in early 2022 in Keller Town Center. Be on the lookout and come with us as we get ready. We have some amazing partners that have joined us on this journey.”
The post went on to thank the Keller Farmers Market, City of Keller, and Greater Keller Chamber.
Started in 2017 by owner JR Herrera and his wife, Vanessa, the food truck sold breakfast tacos in the morning and barbecue in the afternoon at the Keller Farmers Market and other events. While the Herrera’s are excited to expand into a larger, immobile space, they still plan to make use of the food truck for special events.
Described as “a taste above the rest”, JR’s BBQ N More was named Grand Champion in both 2018 and 2019 of the City of Keller’s “I Heart BBQ” fundraiser.
The breakfast menu includes such tacos as bean and cheese, potato and egg, barbacoa, and brisket and egg. The BBQ menu offers brisket and chicken by the pound, pork ribs, and sides such as pinto beans, green beans, and potato salad.
