A popular Mount Pleasant pizza spot is planning to expand with a second location in Charleston.
Toni’s Detroit Style Pizza owners Steve Hopkins, Toni Sahutske and Pete Sahutske closed on the purchase of the new location at 1171 Clements Ferry Road in Wando on July 11. That site previously held Lowco Cafe and Lowcountry Coffee Roasters, which closed in June after 7 years of business.
The trio of Detroit natives have operated their original location on Highway 17 in Mount Pleasant since 2018. According to their website, they offer “crispy deep dish crust, unique brick cheese, baked in authentic blue steel pizza pans” and have been named to several ‘best of’ local pizza lists.
The second location for Toni’s Pizza is expected to open sometime this fall.
