Hazel and Apple, an Irish pub, is slated to open at the site of the former Bonny’s Hideaway next year. The new restaurant is helmed by Sean Muldoon and Jillian Vose of New York’s legendary Dead Rabbit Irish pub.

According to its website, Hazel and Apple will be a ‘Community Tavern’ comprised of two separate bars. “The front bar is The Hazel, and the back bar is The Apple. The Apple opens onto a beautiful outdoor patio space. The Hazel offers an authentic Irish pub ambiance, serving excellent pub grub plus local Charleston and South Carolina specialties.”

Each bar will have its own distinct personality, but will maintain the pub vibe throughout. There will also be live music. The design will be “simple yet timeless, featuring hazlewood, the red and green colors of the apple, and four apple trees on the patio area,” the website adds.

Muldoon has been the creative driving force behind Dead Rabbit since it opened in 2012, which has won multiple accolades, including World’s Best Bar twice. Vose is regularly ranked among the world’s best bartenders and cocktail creators, and has co-authored three books on cocktails and Irish whiskey.
