Big Chill Island House is slated to open this spring in North Myrtle Beach. The new nautical themed restaurant, currently under construction, spans 10,000 square-feet and two stories.
Based on renderings that Big Chill’s parent company La Vida Hospitality shared with What Now Charleston, the massive restaurant will have tons of indoor and outdoor seating, including a tree deck shaded by a Live Oak tree, a dockside bar, covered terrace seating and an indoor “Study Bar.” There will also be a small stage and a roof-top terrace with views of the Intracoastal Waterway.
As for food and drinks, Big Chill’s menu will blend island-inspired dishes and some classic American cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh seafood. The bar will feature signature cocktails like the Painkilla, Island House Rum Runner and Sunset Margarita, as well as a curated wine list of over 30 selected bottles.
“The Big Chill brand has a strong connection to the waterfront along the East Coast, which made the new location in Barefoot Landing an ideal spot. Seafaring guests along the Intracoastal Waterway will be able to pull up and dock their boat right at the foot of Island House to enjoy lunch, dinner or an afternoon cocktail,” according to a representative from La Vida.
La Vida’s portfolio mostly operates out of Delaware and includes the Big Chill brand, Taco Reho and Crooked Hammock Brewery, which has a location in Barefoot Landing close to the new Island House.
“The community of Myrtle Beach has welcomed Crooked Hammock with open arms and we expect more of the same for Island House. We look forward to making even more local connections with Island House being North Myrtle Beach’s new home for relaxed hospitality along the water.”
