A new restaurant is set to open its doors in the 16-acre, mixed-use Hayes Park development on Johns Island. Situated at 605 Kindred Court, The Heyday is slated for a summer 2024 grand opening.

Owner James Groetzinger, who also oversees Island Provisions in Johns Island and Downtown Charleston, told The Post and Courier that the forthcoming eatery will act as “a modern sea island counter service café, market and bar.” The establishment will prioritize farm-to-table produce, fresh seafood, and partnerships with local purveyors.

Operating seven days a week, The Heyday will serve breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by small plates from 4 to 8 p.m. Private chef and Top Chef alum Emily Hanh will curate the menu, emphasizing locally sourced produce and seafood.

The restaurant features a charming wraparound porch, a cozy fire pit, and a full bar offering cocktails on tap. To enhance the lively ambiance, Groetzinger plans to showcase live musicians during the afternoons.
