The popular East Nashville eatery Hearts is nearing its opening, at 2701 12th Ave S. Its second location has been under construction since last year and will soon start hiring all positions, according to a post on their Instagram account, though a confirmed grand-opening date has yet to be set.

The new location is taking over the old Fork’s Drum Closet building and has just under 2,000 square-footage of space, as reported by the Nashville Post. The business partnered with MTLC Inc. to help with the construction of the restaurant.

The restaurant will continue to serve up Australian inspired food, coffee and cocktails. Their current offerings include an extensive brunch menu with classics such as avocado toast, eggs Benedict, and more creative dishes like ricotta hotcakes. They also offer sandwiches, bowls and smoothies.

Hearts will be in good company of other beloved local brunch spots in the 12 South neighborhood, such as Portland Brew, Frothy Monkey and The Buttermilk Ranch.

Co-founder Sam Ross is behind the expansion. Ross comes from a successful background with his experience opening Attaboy speakeasy bar in the trendy East Nashville neighborhood in 2017 as well as Lakeside Lounge restaurant and bar.

“We can’t wait to share this new space with you,” the business stated on their Instagram announcement in December.
