The Charlotte-based MPV Properties has announced a handful of new tenants for Farmington, a master-planned community in Harrisburg, including a new Famous Toastery opening near the Mecklenburg-Cabarrus county line.
The company is developing a 180-acre project featuring over 600 homes and 275,000 square feet of commercial space, located off Interstate 485 at Rocky River Road, according to Charlotte Business Journal. One of the tenants announced is the Famous Toastery, which expects to open a 3,000-square-foot, corporate-owned restaurant during the second half of 2024. Construction on a new retail building, called Small Shops II, is set to begin soon.
The new building will sit adjacent to the 11,621-square-foot Small Shops I building, which already features a Dunkin’ Donuts Jersey Mike’s Subs and Farmington Village Dental Care. Chick-fil-A has also recently opened a new location in the area. Ivy Rehab and a nail salon are finishing up at that adjacent building. Nearby, Harris Teeter Fuel Center is set to begin construction in the upcoming months.
This is just the beginning for MPV, which has already begun the permitting process for three new commercial buildings called Farmington Ridge Shops. Two buildings will be 8,500 square feet, with the third slightly larger at 10,500 square feet. All three buildings will sit in front of Farmington Ridge Parkway. Construction is slated for early 2024, with space designated for medical, restaurant, fitness, and other retail and service providers.
“These new additions will provide our residents and visitors with even more options for shopping, dining, and services,” George Macon, managing partner at MPV, tells the Business Journal.
