Popular Southern chain Waffle House has submitted plans for a new location, according to recently filed permits. It is eyeing a lot at 2538 Sam Wilson Road to construct a new restaurant.

It appears that the chain plans to build from the ground up for this location. The permits show plans to construct both the restaurant building and a parking lot, driveway, dumpster enclosure, signs and landscaping.

Waffle House already has a strong presence in Charlotte and North Carolina as a whole, with more than 170 locations across the state. Since its opening in Georgia in 1955, the brand has grown to more than 1,900 locations across 25 states.

Waffle House is known for its all-day breakfast offerings, but it also offers lunch and dinner menus that feature classic items like burgers and melts. Waffle House locations are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
