The Jacksonville Beach-based plant store meets beer and wine bar concept, Spruce, is looking to open a second outpost at 6644 Post Street in Murray Hill.
Owner Ida Vera-Uffelman opened the one-stop-plant-shop flagship at 323 10th Avenue in Jacksonville Beach in spring 2021. The new space will be a converted 2,000-square-foot warehouse with indoor and outdoor seating, according to The Florida-Times Union.
The boutique carries both beginner and rare plants at its retail shop, as well as a beer and wine selection for its sit-down bar. It also hosts events and workshops. Vera-Uffelman is unsure when the Murray Hill spot will open at press time because it is dealing with lots of red tape from the city.
It has a selection of over two dozen plant species ranging from beginner-friendly plants like snake plants, pothos and philodendrons to rare plants like anthuriums, hoyas and Scindaapus. It also has trees including a fiddle-leaf fig, as well as planters, books and household accessories.
