Fresh-baked bagels and specialty cream cheese spreads are coming to St. Augustine, where Jeff’s Bagel Run is preparing to open its first St. Johns County location.
The shop is planned for 4285 U.S. Highway 1 in St. Augustine, next to Chipotle and in front of the Publix-anchored Moultrie Square shopping center near Wildwood Drive. According to the St. Johns Citizen, officials approved building plans for the 1,732-square-foot space on October 13. The storefront is being created by enclosing the former Wells Fargo bank’s drive-thru area.
The company’s website lists the St. Augustine shop as coming soon, although an opening date has not yet been announced.
Jeff’s Bagel Run began in Central Florida after founder Jeff Perera started making bagels at home in 2019. What began as a way to make the kind of bagels he and his wife, Danielle, enjoyed grew from sharing batches with friends and neighbors to selling at farmers markets. The couple opened their first storefront in Ocoee in 2021.
The business has since expanded into a growing chain, with locations across several states. Its arrival in St. Augustine will bring the brand’s scratch-made bagels to another Northeast Florida community.
Bagels are made from scratch at each location, with dough proofed overnight before the bagels are boiled and baked throughout the day. The menu includes familiar choices such as plain, sesame and everything, alongside more distinctive flavors including asiago everything, jalapeño cheddar, rosemary salt and cacio e pepe.
Cream cheese spreads are another part of the offering, with both savory and sweet varieties. The menu includes options such as veggie cream cheese, banana pudding and other rotating flavors, giving customers plenty of combinations to try.
The shop also serves coffee and specialty drinks to go with its baked goods. Customers can order individual bagels or larger quantities, making the shop an option for weekday breakfasts, weekend stops or gatherings that call for a box of fresh bagels.
Jeff’s Bagel Run’s expansion into Northeast Florida began earlier in 2026 with a location in Neptune Beach. The St. Augustine shop will extend the chain’s reach into St. Johns County as the brand continues to grow.
The new location is planned for a former bank property alongside Chipotle, with the conversion turning the unused drive-thru space into a customer-facing storefront. While building plans have been approved, the company has not yet shared a confirmed opening date.
