Tacos before takeoff could soon be on the menu at Jacksonville International Airport. Cantina Louie, the Northeast Florida restaurant brand known for its Mexican street food and cocktails, is preparing to bring its menu to the airport’s new Concourse B.
The city approved a permit on October 26 for a $1.215 million build-out covering 2,090 square feet. Auld & White Constructors LLC, a Jacksonville-based contractor, will handle the project, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record.
Plans place the restaurant near the entrance to the new concourse, between Starbucks and BurgerFi. The airport location will be managed and staffed by Host International Inc., which operates concessions at Jacksonville International Airport.
Founded in 2014, Cantina Louie has grown from its Northeast Florida roots into a restaurant brand with locations across Florida and North Carolina. Its menu focuses on Mexican street food, specialty tacos and drinks, giving customers a range of options beyond the traditional fast-food meal.
One of the restaurant’s signature dishes is its quesabirria tacos, made with birria and melted cheese in grilled tortillas, served with birria broth for dipping. The menu also features specialty tacos with fillings such as skirt steak, shrimp, mahi and grilled chicken.
Other options include the fajita burrito, packed with steak, shrimp, chicken, peppers, onions, tomatoes and rice, then topped with queso and guacamole. For a larger meal, the carne asada features grilled skirt steak served with rice, refried beans and a side salad.
The drinks menu includes cocktails such as the 1862, made with reposado tequila, Gran Gala and house-made sour, as well as the Mezcalita, which combines mezcal, passion fruit and lime.
Cantina Louie will be one of several restaurants joining Concourse B as Jacksonville International Airport expands its dining and retail offerings. Other planned food options include Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, V Pizza, Willie Jewell’s Old School Bar-B-Q, Salt & Tide and Pura Bean Coffee Co.
The new concourse is part of a roughly $344 million airport expansion that will add six gates, along with restaurants, shops and passenger amenities. The Jacksonville Daily Record reported that the concourse is expected to open for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on January 27, 2027, with American Airlines flights scheduled to begin using the new gates on January 28.
Cantina Louie’s exact opening date has not been announced. Customers can find the restaurant’s existing menu and location information on the official Cantina Louie website.
