Petfolk, a veterinary practice known for its wellness and urgent care, is planning to open a clinic at The Berkeley at Durbin Park, a new shopping center in northern St. Johns County. The center is scheduled to open in 2028, and construction began this week.
The center is being built by Jacksonville-based Regency Centers along East Peyton Parkway, just off State Road 9B and across from UF Health at Durbin Park. It will have 106,054 square feet of retail space and is already 77% leased. Whole Foods Market and TJ Maxx are the anchors, and Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, Shake Shack, Luxy Nail Spa and Sweathouz are also signed, alongside Petfolk. Street addresses for the individual shops haven’t been assigned yet.
According to the Jacksonville Business Journal, Regency broke ground on the project on Oct. 27, and about 23,654 square feet remains available across 12 units, from 1,400 square feet to a 6,500-square-foot pad. Plans include outdoor dining areas, gathering spaces, landscaping and room for public art.
Petfolk describes itself as a community-focused veterinary practice built by experienced veterinarians, with a warm, welcoming feel and an emphasis on education and transparency. Its Jacksonville clinic at 4852 Town Center Parkway at St. Johns Town Center in Southside offers routine exams, vaccinations, spay and neuter surgeries and urgent veterinary care, with same-day appointments. The company also has clinics in Miami and Orlando.
Durbin Park is one of the fastest-growing parts of Northeast Florida. The area already includes UF Health, shopping and dining near Interstate 95 and County Road 210, and nearby neighborhoods such as Durbin Crossing and Nocatee, which have been adding residents at a steady pace.
The Berkeley will be Regency’s latest project in the Jacksonville area, joining The Village at Seven Pines, a 250,000-square-foot development that will also house the company’s future headquarters.
