According to recent reports, local restaurateur Mark Janasik is working on opening an impressive new project.

“The Hub” is projected to open at the end of this year. Builders broke ground at the plot at the northwest corner of Forest Street and Riverside Avenue in November.

“The 11,000-square-foot space will feature three concepts from Janasik’s Restaurant & Hospitality Investment Group: an approximately 3,400-square-foot Southern Grounds & Co. coffee shop and Blueberry Bakery and a new restaurant concept named Alder & Oak,” the report states.

“Bringing The HUB to life has been a journey made possible by the incredible support of our community, the city, and our dedicated stakeholders,” said Mark Janasik, owner of RHIG.

“This project embodies our commitment to quality and authenticity, uniting our community-first approach with sustainable practices and genuine hospitality. Our vision for The HUB has always been to create an inviting space where people from all walks of life can connect and experience the best of Jacksonville’s Brooklyn neighborhood, and we look forward to making this a reality.”

No opening date has been announced.
