Dave’s Hot Chicken was started by a group of friends (one being Dave Kopushyan who trained in Thomas Keller’s French Laundry) that set out to create the perfect fried sandwich by endlessly searching, tasting, and testing chicken until their finger-licking recipe was a hit. Once the recipe arrived at the sweet spot, the friends organized a tiny food stand in an East Hollywood parking lot and the rest is history.
With five locations already existing around the Boston metro, Dave’s Hot Chicken Braintree will be frying up sandwiches and tenders at South Shore Place, also home to other national spots like Five Guys, TGI Fridays, Starbucks and Ben & Jerry’s.
The menu is quite simple with minimal offerings aside from the main character hot chicken. Guests are able to choose how hot they’d like their tenders from a range of “no spice” to “reaper.” Optional sides include fries, cheese fries, mac and cheese and kale slaw.
An opening timeline has not been revealed for the “coming soon” 30 Forbes Road location. What Now Boston has confirmed with Jamal Bourote (President of BGR Hospitality) that the storefront is in the final stretch of the planning and approval stages. This article will continue to be updated as details continue to emerge.
