K-Bok Korean Fried Chicken Plans to Open in Somerville’s Union Square

The eatery could be taking over the former Cantina La Mexicana space.

A new spot for Korean fried chicken may be headed to Somerville’s Union Square.

According to Boston Restaurant Talk, K-Bok Korean Fried Chicken is eyeing the former Cantina La Mexicana space at 249 Washington St. Recent business filings and details from a licensing commission page confirm these plans.

Owner Yajaira Casserly aims to offer “high-quality Korean fried chicken, along with side dishes, desserts, and all forms of alcohol to accompany the food.”

The proposed eatery would seat 50 guests and plans to operate seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
