An authentic Jamaican eatery in Dorchester is relocating to a larger space.
According to an X post from @WriteHandMan of the Dorchester Reporter (via Boston Restaurant Talk), Murl’s Kitchen will soon move from its current Washington St space to 10-18 Bowdoin St.
The new venue will span 3,800 square feet and offer seating for 150, including dining, bar seating, and a private dining room. Murl’s Kitchen has also applied for a full liquor license at the new location.
Named after the owner’s mother, Murl, the restaurant serves a variety of traditional Jamaican dishes such as jerk chicken, rasta pasta, curry goat, and oxtail.
The owner told What Now Boston that she doesn’t plan to close the restaurant during the transition. While a timeline for the move has not yet been set, she noted that Murl’s Kitchen is progressing “slowly but surely.”
