Colada Shop, a Cuban bar and restaurant, plans to open its sixth location in Clarendon in early 2024.
The new location, which will be the brand’s second-largest spot after the one in Potomac, Maryland, will span a 2,200-square-foot space at 1440 North Edgewood Street.
“We are excited to be featuring a much larger bar area along with some further cocktails that we will be introducing at this location,” Colada Shop owner and CEO Daniella Senior told What Now DC. “The community there is very young and vibrant and loves to go out and we’d like to make sure that we are tailoring the new location to that community.”
The rum-focused business plans to incorporate more spirits and an extensive cocktail menu at the new Colada Shop location. This menu will include pina coladas, Moitos, and Carajillo— the bar’s Latino version of the espresso martini made with Colada Shop’s signature Havana Blend coffee, spiced Maduro syrup, and banana liqueur, according to Arlington Magazine.
The area housing the sixth Colada Shop in an alleyway seems just right for Senior and her team as it creates an inviting atmosphere for the community to see more of the brand’s offerings.
“I am an Arlington resident, so I’m excited to have a location that’s close to my home. I am part of [the community] as well and we just love the space,” said Senior, who added that her team plans to open more Colada Shop locations in Virginia.
