Restaurateur Yi Wang Plans to Open His New Restaurant Called Omakase in DC

A soft opening for the new restaurant might take place sometime during the fall

Renowned restaurateur and sushi chef Yi (Ricky) Wang plans to open a new Japanese restaurant called Omakase at Barracks Row in DC.

The new restaurant will be located at 522 8th Street SE and it is expected to seat up to 28 guests, according to a recently filed liquor license application. 

Wang told What Now DC that he wants to have a soft opening sometime during the fall, but an exact date for a grand opening is yet to be announced. 

Wang plans to introduce a menu with three to five Otsumami options along with various appetizers and miso soup with fresh aosanori and scallion. 

The menu will also feature Wagyu Shumai truffle, Zuke King Salamon, and sake and Longan soft jello for dessert, among other dishes.
