A dynamic culinary duo is bringing a vast and comprehensive Italian dining experience to Georgetown next year. Michelin-starred chefs Stephen Starr and Nancy Silverton have joined forces to open Osteria Mozza in 2024, reports local media outlet The Georgetowner.

The sprawling 20,000 square-foot establishment, located at 3276 M Street NW will include a full restaurant, a cocktail bar, an Italian market, a prosciutto bar, and a mozzarella bar. The restaurant will provide seating for up to 312 guests. Osteria Mozza will be taking over the space vacated by Dean & Deluca. While a precise opening date has not yet been announced, Starr and Silverton aim to open the restaurant’s doors by Q4 of 2024.

Starr is enthusiastic about his latest project, stating “I am confident that what we create together will knock the socks off of D.C.” Silverton is similarly optimistic about the venture, which will feature an array of her signature dishes. The renowned restaurateur says “I want the people of D.C. to have a place to celebrate life with the great Italian flavors of Mozza,”, adding, “For me, I know it’s going to be a terrific experience, finally getting to work with Stephen Starr, one of the best restaurateurs in America. Throw in the renowned Roman and Williams design team and the vibrancy of this city, and we’re talking about a dream team.”

Osteria Mozza visitors will be able to enjoy Silverton’s thin-crust pizzas, home-made pastas, roasted meats, vegetables, fish, and focaccia di recco, a dish Starr told The Washingtonian is “My favorite dish I’ve ever eaten in my life. Anywhere.”

After feasting on chef Silverton’s delicious cuisine, visitors can stock up on all of their Italian pantry essentials at the attached market. The shop will sell house-made rubs, olive oils, fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as an assortment of canned and jarred Italian products.
